Phillies end skid, win #99
The Phillies ended their 8 game losing steak, topping the Mets, 9-4 on Sunday. Ryan Howard had 2 hits, scored a run and drove in #115, although he is still limping around on that bad heel. Carlos Ruiz (.290) was 4 for 4 with a walk, scored once and drove in 2. Antonio Bastardo, who was great for the first 4 and a half months of the season, seems to have hit the wall. Bastardo was knocked around for 3 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks, retiring only 1 hitter. His ERA, down below 1.50 for most of the year, has ballooned to 2.68. Vance Worley came in to bail him out. Vance did allow a run on 2 hits, striking out 3 in just 1.2 innings.

Jason Donald (.320) had 2 more hits and a walk for the Tribe, while Lou Marson took an 0 for 4. Donald is showing he is back after an injury riddled early season, and is making a bid to compete for a job in the spring. Go, J.D.!!...............Gavin Floyd pitched well in his final start of the year, going 8 innings for the White Sox against the Royals. Gavin allowed just 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks, striking out 10 and being saddled with the 2-1 loss. Floyd finishes 2011 with 12-13, 4.37 record.
