2 straight
The Phillies rode the momentum of Friday's 9th inning rally and made it 2 in a row on Saturday, defeated the Astros, 9-4. Ryan Howard was 2 for 5, scored a run and drove one in, and Carlos Ruiz had an RBI double and scored a run. Michael Bourn took an 0 for 5 for Houston. Sunday's finale will feature 2 of the primary figures in last year's trade, Jay Happ for the Astros and Roy Oswalt for Philadelphia.

9 returnees
The Lakewood BlueClaws have announced their roster and it includes 9 players who have played here before. If you add in 2 on the disabled list, the 11 returnees marks the highest number of returning players to start the season in the history of the team. The entire roster can be seen on the 'Claw's website as of now!
Sox bash Carrasco
Carlos Carrasco made his first start of the year for the Indians Saturday and was hit hard early by the White Sox. Although Carlos gave up 5 runs on 7 hits (2 bloops and broken bat among them) in the first 2 innings, he made it through 6.2, and was charged with 2 more runs on just 3 more hits and seemed to find his rhythm after the jitters went away. The White Sox went on to win 8-3.
Drabek gets first win!
Kyle Drabek made his 2011 debut for the Toronto Blue Jays Saturday afternoon and was fantastic through his 7 innings of work against Minnesota. Kyle allowed 1 run on just 1 hit, 3 walks, and 7 strike outs as the Blue Jays prevailed over the Twins, 6-1. It was the first major league win for Drabek, who went to Toronto in the Roy Halladay deal.
comeback kids at it again
After posting 42 come from behind win in 2010, the Phillies spotted the Astros a 4-0 lead yesterday before rallying back for 5 runs in the last 3 innings to take a 5-4 win on opening day. Ryan Howard (2 for 3, SAC FLY) and Carlos Ruiz both had singles in the Phillies 6 hit 9th frame. Michael Bourn had a 2-run triple and scored a run for Houston.......After pitching 15 shut out innings in spring training, Taylor Buchholz made his Mets debut in Miami, and promptly allowed a home run to the first hitter he faced- Logan Morrison, before recording his 3 outs!...........Robinson Tejeda threw a scoreless inning for Kansas City in the Royal's 2-1 win over the Angels...........Carlos Carrasco and Kyle Drabek both make their debuts Saturday afternoon.

Mets release Berry
The Mets today released Quintin Berry right at the last minute. A disappointed "Q" will be heading home to ponder his future.
Nats release Bis
Joe Bisenius was released by the Washington Nationals on Thursday and is a free agent.
