Ryan Howard hit 2 home runs (# 13 & 14), including a grand slam, to help lead the Phillies to a 9-6 win over the Nationals Saturday night. It was the second 2 home run game in less than a week for the big man, and the grand slam was the 8th of his career, surpassing the Phillies record of 7 held by
Mike Schmidt.
Carlos Ruiz added a double and a walk, scored 2 runs, and stole a base, and
Cole Hamels had a single and a sacrifice to drive in his first run of the season. Hamels struggled with his control through 6 innings, giving up 6 earned runs on 8 hits and a walk, but still recorded his 3rd win of the year.
