Wednesday's action

The Pirates defeated the Phillies 8-2. Jason Donald had a walk in 2 at bats, Jeremy Slayden had a single and a double and scored a run, Lou Marson was 0 for 1 and Ryan Howard was 0 for 2. Joe Bisenius was the losing pitcher, giving up 4 earned runs on 2 walks and 2 hits, including a 3-run home run in 1 inning of work.

Michael Bourn had a double and an RBI in 3 at bats in Houston's 6-3 win over Washington.

Greg Golson was 2 for 2, a single and a double and scored a run for Texas in their 12-7 victory over the Royals. Elizardo Ramirez pitched a scoreless frame for the Rangers in that game.

Arizona topped Colorado, 5-3. Chris Roberson had a walk in 2 at bats and stole a base.

Oakland and Milwaukee played 10 innings, deciding nothing in a 3-3 contest. Josh Outman pitched 2 shut out innings, giving up just 1 hit. Gio Gonzalez followed with 2 innings, surrendering a run on 2 hits, the run coming on a Corey Hart home run.

For those who were asking, Welinson Baez has been released, the pitching experiment apparently over.
