With the Caribbean Series now in the rear view mirror, we can turn our attention to spring training, and the World Baseball Classic. Pitchers and catchers are reporting this week, and the provisional rosters are set for the WBC.
11 former BlueClaws will attempt to make the national squads for the following teams:
Australia-Scott Mitchinson, Drew Naylor, Joel Naughton, Brad Harman
Canada- RJ Swindle (Scott Mathieson has decided not to compete)
Italy- Jack Santora, Mike Spidale
Panama- Carlos Ruiz, Avelino Asprilla
Venezuela- Carlos Carrasco, Victor Moreno (with Johan Santana declining to participate at the Mets' request, maybe Francisco Butto should get a look after his stellar performance in the Caribbean Series)
Team USA is dominated by MLB players, but no former 'Claws are on the list.
