Cosart sharp in debut

I start today in Dunedin where the Astros belted the Blue Jays, 10-1.  Jonathan Villar got his first hit of the spring, going 1 for 2 late in the game.  Jarred Cosart was very effective, pitching the 4th and 5th innings, allowing no runs, just 1 hit and 1 walk, and 1 strike out. Anthony Gose had 1 at bat for Toronto, and Tyson Brummett pitched the final inning, and allowed no runs on 2 hits, with a strike out................Over in Lee County, the Twins took a 12-5 game from the Phillies.  The Phillies line up was filled with HomeSiders. Domonic Brown had a double, 2 walks, an RBI and scored 3 runs to pace the attack!  Ryan Howard had a walk and an RBI single, and Carlos Ruiz had 2 hits which drove in 3 runs.  Freddy Galvis, Zack Collier, Sebastian Valle and Darin Ruf all got in the game offensively, and after Antonio Bastardo tossed another scoreless inning, both Justin De Fratus and Brian Rosenberg each allowed 3 runs in 1 inning of work.

Out in the Cactus League, the Rockies beat San Diego, 6-3.  Josh Outman tossed a scoreless frame (2 hits) and recorded a hold for Colorado.  The other half of the Padres also lost, 11-6 to the Athletics.  Michael Taylor had a walk and an RBI for Oakland in that game.............In Goodyear, the Seattle Mariners beat the Indians, 5-1.  Michael Bourn had 1 of the Indians 6 hits, and Lou Marson picked up a walk in 3 plate appearances............In Scotsdale, Jason Donald was 0 for 2 and played shortstop for the Reds in their 14-6 win over the Diamondbacks. Tuffy Gosewisch was 1 for 2 for Snakes. These 2 were teammates in 2007 in Lakewood.
