In Clearwater Thursday, Freddy Galvis (single, double, run, RBI), Ryan Howard (double, HR, 2 runs, 2 RBI), and Darin Ruf (single, double, RBI) had 2 hits each to lead the Phillies to a 10-5 win.  Domonic Brown added a single, a walk, and a run to keep his spring average at a lofty .417 for the first week.   Cole Hamels was very good, allowing 4 hits, NO walks, and 1 UNearned run, striking out 5 in his 3 innings.  Jake Diekman threw a scoreless frame (1 walk), but Jonathan Pettibone was roughed up for 4 runs on 3 hits and a walk in his 2 innings.

In other action, Trevor May tossed a scoreless frame (with 2 walks)  for the Twins in their 7-1 win over Baltimore...........Travis d'Arnaud had 2 singles and scored 2 runs for the Mets in their 4-4 draw with Washington.  Travis is now 4 for 9 (.444) in his first week with New York...........The Astros edged a Yankee split squad, 7-6.  Jonathan Villar took an 0 for 4, Jason Jaramillo had a walk and scored a run in 2 plate appearances, and Sergio Escalona got the final 4 outs (1 hit, 1 walk) to register the save for Houston.  The other half of the Yankees dropped a 1-0 game to Toronto.  Jay Happ threw a 1-2-3 inning for the Jays in that one.

In Goodyear, Jason Donald had 3 hits, including 2 doubles and drove in 2 runs (playing second base), and Travis Mattair had a hit in 2 at bats for Cincinnati, but the Reds lost to Arizona, 6-5.  Alfredo Simon pitched 3 innings and allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, NO walks.

The Blue Jays officially put Kyle Drabek on the 60-day DL this week.  Kyle is recovering from Tommy John surgery last June.
