Mitchinson wins again

The early Saturday results are in.

Scott Mitchinson picked up his 3rd win of the young season, a 7-1 victory for the Kane County Cougars over the Dayton Dragons. Mitch worked the first 6 of the 7 inning game (they are playing 2 tonight), giving up just 1 run on 5 hits, NO walks, 2 strike outs to improve to 3-0, 2.57 on the year.

The Cougars are the same level (low A) as the BlueClaws, and if Mitchinson continues the way he is going, the obvious promotion would be to high A Stockton in the California League. Oakland has to be smiling after snagging Scott in minor league phase of the rule 5 draft in December.

Earlier this afternoon, the St Louis Cardinals defeated Houston, 4-3. Michael Bourn returned to the line up, but was obviously rusty, striking out in 3 of his 4 at bats. Mike is too good a hitter to be down for long, and I believe he WILL bounce back.
