Reds clip Byrd's wings

In Clearwater last night, Darren Byrd continued with his early season struggle. Darren gave up 9 earned runs on 10 hits and 4 walks, losing to Sarasota 10-6. Byrd is now 0-3, 8.84 this month. A winner of 9 games last year at Lakewood, Byrd has not found it yet this year.

On the offense, once again it was P.J. Antoniato leading the attack with 3 more hits. P.J. is 9 for 20 (.450) the last 4 games and has his season average up to .349. Quintin Berry had 2 hits and 2 walks, raised his average to .263, and stole a base, his 6th in 8 attempts. (Q is now 10 for his 27 and showing signs of becoming the catalyst that he was last year in Lakewood). Jay Miller and Fidel Hernandez chipped in with 2 hits each and Gus Milner belted a 3-run double. Gus now has 15 RBI, which I believe leads all former 'Claws at this point. The Threshers fell to 7-15 on the season.
