In Pittsburgh Wednesday, Domonic Brown had 3 hits, including his 22nd home run of the year, scored 2 runs and drove in 2 more (60), but the Phillies dropped a 6-5 decision to the Pirates. Jake Diekman struck out all 5 hitters he faced, but also threw a wild pitch which allowed an inherited runner to score.......In Kansas City, Michael Bourn (.301) returned from paternity leave, and got 2 hits, stole his 12th base, scored a run and drove in another one for the Indians, who wer edged by the Royals by the score of 6-5.......In Cincinnati, the Reds took 11 innings to beat the Gianst, 3-2. Alfredo Simon pitched to 3 hitters in the 8th, striking out 2 and walking 1...........In Denver, the Dodgers got past the Rockies, 10-8. Josh Outman retired the only hitter he faced in the 8th inning.
In Allentown, Leandro Castro was 3 for 3 and drove in a run for the IronPigs in a 2-0 win over Syracuse. Freddy Galvis had the other RBI for Lehigh Valley, who improved to 46-40 on the year..........In Reading, the Fightin Phils managed just 4 hits in a 7-4 loss to Richmond. Derrick Mitchell had a double and a home run and knocked in 2 for the Phils...........In Clearwtaer, the Threshers got past the Blue Jays, 4-3 in 12 innings. Kelly Dugan hit his 10th home run of the year (off Kyle Drabek), and Chris Serritella added 3 hits for Clearwater.
In Oklahoma City, Jonathan Villar (.281) had a hit, 2 walks, 2 RBI and scored a run for the Red Hawks in their wild 10-9 win over the Isotopes.
