The Phillies have placed
Domonic Brown on the 7-day DL with a concussion, and called up
Steve Susdorf from Lehigh Valley. Susdorf got into the game Thursday night, batting for
Kyle Kendrick and grounding into a double play. He is the 53rd former Claw to play in the majors, and the 4th to make his debut this year. The Cardinals defeated Kendrick and the Phillies, 3-1.
Darin Ruf (.292) had a single and a walk in the game, and
Antonio Bastardo (2.39) pitched 2 perfect innings, striking out 3 of the 6. Kendrick (9-7, 3.96) pitched the first 6 frames, and allowed 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks.
