The win clinched a berth in the semi finals in San Francisco for the Netherlands. Japan, 10-6 winners over the Netherlands today in a seeding game, will also advance.
The other 2 slots will be decided in Miami, with the DR taking on Italy, and Puerto Rico facing the USA today in the opening games of this round, which is a "modified" double elimination event.
