WBC

It looks like Korea's early exit from the tournament will not be the last surprise for us. The Italian team has beaten Mexico and Canada in less than 24 hours, and looks like a lock to advance to the second round.  Mexico did bounce back, beating Team USA, 5-2 yesterday.   Huge game today between Canada and Mexico with the loser being done.

In Puerto Rico, the host team beat Spain yesterday, 3-0 to match the DR's win over Venezuela the day before. The team will swith opponents today, with DR taking on Spain, and Venezuela challanging Puerto Rico.

In the second round in Tokyo, Chinese Taipei has been eliminated, after having Japan on the ropes the other day.  But the 2-time defending champs once again came from behind, scoring 4 late runs for a 4-2 win.  Japan will play the Netherlands today, with the winner in the drivers seat of the group.  Cuba will face the loser of that one tomorrow.
