Michael Taylor, Drew Naylor, Ben Pfinsgraff and Herman Demmink have all been promoted from Lakewood to Clearwater. This leaves an overflow of outfielders with the Threshers. (The Demmink promotion was made necessary by the move of Welinson Baez to become a pitcher. The Phillies have been considering this for a long time and Baez' inconsistency at the plate forced the move. It is better than a release, but Welinson will go back to square one.) The BlueClaws will have a drastically different team for the second half.
Also, Antonio Bastardo was placed on the DL with Reading and Tyson Brummett has been promoted and will make his AA debut tonight for the R-Phils.
I have gotten conflicting stories on Michael Durant, but I believe his promotion has been delayed due to Matt Rizzotti being on the DL, and Karl Bolt still playing with a broken nose.
The BlueClaws began the second half tonight against first half champ Lake County and I am sure there will be some new faces in uniform when I get to the ballpark.
