A big day for some minor leaguers as Freddy Galvis and Michael Dabbs each had 3-hit games on Wednesday. Galvis had a single, a double, a triple, scored 3 runs and drove one in, and is hitting .381 since being reassigned! Sebastian Valle had a big home run, the only run of the AAA game as the Phillies won a squeaker, 1-0. Mike Stutes threw 2 scoreless innings in that one.
Austin Hyatt, Edgar Garcia, Joe Esposito, and B.J. Rosenberg combined to win the AA game, Phillies taking that one 13-2. Korby Mintkin had 2 hits and a walk, scoring 2 runs. Other notable multi-hit games by Travis Mattair (home run), Darrin Ruf and Aaron Altherr.
Jay Happ won his 3rd game of the spring as Houston beat Pittsburgh 10-6. Happ gave up 5 runs over 6 innings and was the beneficiary of the offensive explosion by his side.....Scott Mathieson (2.00) and Antonio Bastardo (1.38) both threw shut out innings for the Philllies in the Ray's 4-1 win. Ryan Howard was 0 for 3, as the Phils only registered 6 hits.......Greg Golson had single and scored a run in his only plate appearance for the Yankees Wednesday, contributing to New York's 5-3 win over the Blue Jays...........Matt Maloney threw a shut out inning for the Reds in their 10-7 loss to the Padres.......The Royals slapped around Carlos Carrasco for 6 runs on 9 hits (2 HR) and 2 walks, in just 4.1 innings of work. Carlos seems to be behind schedule, his recent form not very impressive. Lou Marson was 0 for 3 in the game for Cleveland in an exciting game which the Indians won, 8-7.
