Cole cool again

Cole Hamels threw a complete game 4-hitter to lead the Phillies to a 7-2 win over the Brewers in Milwaukee Thursday night. Cole (14-7, 2.60) was never in trouble, both runs coming on solo home runs, and used just 111 pitches to finish the game. Carlos Ruiz had an RBI double and scored a run for the Phils in their 6-run 6th inning rally.

In Baltimore, Alfredo Simon started for the Orioles and pitched 4 rough innings against the Yankees. Simon gave up 4 runs on 6 hits and 6 walks and received no decision in the Orioles' 5-4 extra inning win.........In New York, Michael Bourn went 1 for 7, with a walk, 2 runs scored, an RBI and his 51st stolen base, as the Braves won both games of a doubleheader from the Mets, 6-5 and 5-1.............In Chicago, Gavin Floyd pitched 5.1 innings for the White Sox, allowing the Indians 1 run on 5 hits and 2 walks, striking out 4 and leaving the game in a 1-1 tie. The Sox went to an 8-1 win later.

The win by Hamels was #82 for the HomeSide.
