Matt Rizzotti (.295) had 3 hits and drove in 3 runs (team leading 84) to lead the Reading Phillies into the playoffs with a 6-2 win in Binghamton. Mike Spidale had 2 more hits to finish the regular season at .326, 3rd best in the league! Tyson Brummett came up big, giving Reading 6 solid innings, and giving up just 2 runs on 8 hit, NO walks, and struck out 6 to win his 4th game of the year. Mike Cisco (1.59) threw 2 scoreless frames for his 5th hold.
Tyler Cloyd will get the start in game 1 in Manchester, New Hampshire Wednesday night. The Fisher Cats wrapped up their year with an 8-3 win in Portland. Anthony Gose (.253) had 3 hits (including his 16th home run!), and a walk, scored 3 times and stole base #70. If Reading hopes to win this series, they must keep Gose off the bases, and watch out for league MVP Travis d'Arnaud, who finished at .311, with 21 home runs and 78 RBI.
