Vance does it again

The Phillies beat the Braves 6-3 while dodging the raindrops in Philadelphia last night. Vance Worley went the first 6 innings, and allowed just 2 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks to improve to 11-1, 2.85 in his outstanding rookie year. Mike Stutes (3.69) notched his 11th hold with 1 inning of work, despite allowing a run. Michael Bourn (.299) had 3 hits (2 off Worley and a double off Stutes), stole his league leading 50th base, and scored a run for Atlanta. Ryan Howard (.254) was 1 for 3 , with a walk and drove in run #108.

The win for Worley was #81 for the HomeSide.

In Oakland, Michael Taylor got his first major league hit, a double, in Oakland's 7-4 loss to the Royals, who beat Gio Gonzalez (12-12).

On the wire this morning, Greg Golson has been recalled by the Yankees, and Sergio Escalona has been activated off the DL by the Astros.
