Jay Happ won his first major league game since July 19, throwing 7 shut out innings against the Pirates, as the Astros completed the sweep of Pittsburgh, 2-0. Jay (5-15) allowed just 3 hits and 1 walk, striking out 6 to end the drought and even his career mark at 24-24.........In Cleveland, the Indians got a much needed win with a 4-3, 16-inning victory over the A's. Tied at 3 going to the 15th, Oakland turned to Josh Outman. Outman allowed a lead-off double by Jason Donald, J.D.'s second hit of the game, but got out of the inning unscored upon. The Indians got to him for the winning run an inning later, dropping him to 3-4 on the season............In Cincinnati, Carlos Ruiz, having another of his late season hitting streaks, had 3 hits to help Cliff Lee win his 15th game, 3-0 over the Reds. Ruiz is now hitting .278, and Ryan Howard dove in his 103rd run.
The win by Happ was the 79th for the HomeSide!
