The Lakewood BlueClaws belted 4 home runs last night, including back-to-back shots by Dennis Winn and D'Arby Myers, and survived a sub-par pitching night to capture their 4th straight win, 12-11 in 11 innings in Lexington. Lakewood pounded out 19 hits, led by 4 by Michael Taylor, who was 1 for 10 in the first 4 games of the road trip. Mike had 4 singles and a walk, stole his 4th base and lifted his season mark to .358. Winn (.281) added 2 doubles, his first home run, 3 RBI and scored 3 times. Dominic Brown (single, 1st HR, .307), Michael Durant (single, 6th HR, 2 RBI, .292), Matt Rizzotti (2 singles, RBI), Travis Mattair, and Freddy Galvis all added 2 hits for the 'Claws who rallied time and again in this one. Durant is on pace to set the all-time record for home runs by a BlueClaw, which is 22 set by Juan Richardson in our inaugural season of 2001.
I said it at the ballpark last week and I go on the record here: Durant will break the record. You heard it here first, HomeSiders!!
