The Reading game is over, and the Out Man Cometh!! Josh Outman threw the first 5 innings for Reading, giving up just 2 runs on 5 hits, 3 walks, striking out 9, to gain his first win of the season. If that were not enough, the "OutMan" belted a 3-run home run in Reading's 4-run 3rd inning, en route to a 9-2 win over Connecticut.
Jeremy Slayden had another 3-hit game, and 3 more RBI to lead an 11-hit R-Phils attack, and raise his average to .303. Jason Donald (.326) added another 2 hits, as did Luke Appert and Rich Thompson. Thompson just signed as a free agent, and the Phillies assigned him to Reading.
Zack Segovia pitched a 1-2-3 8th inning and R.J. Swindel pitched a perfect 9th. It was good to see Segovia gets some outs after that disaster in New Britain the other day, and for Swindel, his ERA is now 0.71.
