Not a lot of good on Thursday, so I will quickly go through things and give you my silver linings.
The BlueClaws got just 4 hits in 12 innings after driving all night from Maryland to West Virginia, losing to the Power, 3-2. Silver lining- Art Charles 6th home run accounted for Lakewood's runs.
The Threshers blew a 2-run, 11th inning lead, and lost to the Stone Crabs, 9-8. Silver linings- 4 hits for Kelly Dugan, who has come off the DL swinging, and hitting .333! Maikel Franco hit his 9th home run, and at .294 with 35 RBI is having an All-Star season.
D'Arby Myers had not played for Midland since his 4-hit game. I have seen no report of an injury, yet his name was not in the boxscore the last 2 days. Silver lining- Maybe the Athletics are thinking of moving him up and he is en route to AAA. (This is pure "hopeful speculation" on my part, I have no knowledge. He could have a sprained ankle and is staying off it for a few days!)
Jarred Cosart sustained his 2nd loss of the year, pitching 6 innings and allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, striking out 6 in Okalhoma City's 4-1 loss at Fresno. Silver lining- Cosart has a very good 2.55 ERA in the PCL (a hitter's league) and with the Astros sinking like a stone in the standings, a call-up could be sooner rather than later.
