quiet Saturday on the HomeSide

In Washington Saturday, Jonathan Pettibone made another start and pitched pretty well.  "J-Bone"  went 6 innings and gave up 3 runs on 9 hits and 1 walk and left the game in a 2-2 tie.  He also had a double and scored a run.  Antonio Bastardo came on in the 7th, and got 2 outs, walking 2 on the way.  Domonic Brown (.262) had 2 more hits, including his 9th home run and 2 RBI.  After the game, BJ Rosenberg was optioned back to AAA.


In Charleston, the BlueClaws dropped their 4th straight, 2-1 to the Power.  Jonathan Musser pitched 5 innings and allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, NO walks and was tagged with the loss.  Geoff Broussard threw 2 perfect frames, lowering his ERA to a fantastic 0.63, and Delvi Francisco struck out the side in a 1-2-3 8th.  The Claws wrap up their trip today and return to the Jesery shore Monday night..............In Viera, the Threshers dropped a 3-2 decision to the Manatees.  Maikel Franco belted his 10th home run of the year for RBI #36.  Mario Hollands went the first 5.1 inings and gave up 2 runs, 1 earned, on 6 hits and 1 walk, striking out 8 and getting no decision...................In Harrisburg, Cameron Rupp and Tyler Henson had 2 hits each, and Tyson Gillies hit a home run as the Fightin Phils defeated the Senators, 5-1.  Mike Nesseth tossed 2 scoreless frames of relief..........In Allentown, Leandro Castro (.257) had 3 hits, stole his 12th base and knocked in a run to pace the IronPigs to a 4-2 win over Norfolk.
