In Surprise, Arizona,
Josh Outman was banged around by the Kansas City Royals, as KC topped Oakland, 8-3. Josh, who had given up just 3 earned runs in 5 previous outings, was lit up to the tune of 8 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks in just 3.1 innings of work. Included in the 8 hits was the first home run allowed by Outman this spring, a grand slam from
Mike Avilas, who played for Puerto Rico in the WBC. This game, coming so close to end of spring training, severely hurts Josh's chance of making the A's rotation.
