Domonic Brown hit his 5th home run, and a double, scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, leading the Phillies' attack behind Cliff Lee in a 5-0 win over the Red Sox. It was a 2-hit shut out for Lee, who has now pitched 3 complete game shut out in a row, and is up to 32 consecutive scoreless innings. Vance Worley will tackle the Sox tonight.
In Denver, Gavin Floyd threw 7 good innings for the White Sox, giving up just 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks against the Rockies. Floyd received no decision as Colorado took a 3-2 decision in the 13th inning.......In Houston, Michael Bourn (.285) had a single and a triple, scored twice and stole his 34th base of the year for the Astros, but Houston lost to the Rangers, 7-3.
In Altoona, the Reading Phillies scored 6 runs in the top of the 9th inning, Derrick Mitchell's 3-run HR (#13) the big blow, to come from behind to top the Curve, 9-7. Steve Susdorf (.310) had 2 hits and Terry Evans had a double and a home run, driving in 3 runs. Mike Cisco picked up the win, throwing 3 innings of scoreless relief to up his mark to 4-0, after Tyler Cloyd gave up 6 runs on 10 hits over the first 5 innings. Jacob Diekman notched his 1st save, despite allowing a run in the bottom of the 9th.
In Buffalo, the IronPigs rallied for a 6-3 win over the Bisons. Mike Zagurski (1.95) retired 5 hitters, notching a "hold", and Mike Schwimer struck out the last man of the game to record his 4th save.......In Pawtucket, Andy Baldwin started for Rochester, and gave up 6 runs on 7 hits (NO walks), striking out 7 PawSox as the Red Wings dropped a 8-6 decision to the home team.
