'Claws win 6th straight

The Lakewood BlueClaws got the best performance of the season from Walter Tejeda and used it to gain their 6th straight win, 4-0 over the Lexington Legends. Tejeda, who has struggled, put it all together last night, going 6 shut out innings, giving up just 2 hits and 1 walk, picking up 6 strike outs, to improve to 4-4, 4.12 on the year. Dennis Winn hit his 4th home run of the year, a 2-run jack in the first inning, and that would be all the 'Claws would need. Derrick Mitchell, Dominic Brown and Mike Durant all had 2 hits for Lakewood and Travis Mattair drove in his 34th run of the year as the BlueClaws improved to 9-6 in the second half, 47-38 overall.

Reymond Cruz pitched 2 scoreless innings and Joe Rocchio threw a perfect 9th to complete the shut out. This morning the BlueClaws find themselves in second place, 1.5 games behind West Virginia. Chance Chapman (5-4, 2.81) will go for Lakewood tonight, and 3rd round pick Vance Worley will make his Lakewood debut tomorrow night in the road trip finale.
