Threshers stopped by curfew

For the first time in the history of the Clearwater Threshers, the game was called for curfew Friday night, as the umpires did not allow an inning to begin after 1:00 AM. After 14 innings of play, Clearwater and Fort Myers are tied at 2-2 and will complete the game before tonight's contest. In the game Quintin Berry had 2 more hits, extending his hitting streak to 13 straight, going 19 for 55 (.345) in the streak to raise his average to a season high .267. After setting a BlueClaw mark with 152 hits last season, Berry now has 102 hits for Clearwater this season, with 36 steals.

Meanwhile, Zack Segovia has moved again, and is now with AA Harrisburg. Zack pitched Thursday at Bowie and got a win for the Senators. It was his 5th win with 6 different teams so far this year, but he has moved up the Nationals' system back to the Eastern League where he started 2008. On Thursday, Zack threw 5.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits in the Senator's 8-7 win over the BaySox. His next scheduled start will come up on Tuesday against, you guessed it, Reading!!
