In the last few days, the Astros have recalled Jay Happ and the Athletics have recalled Josh Outman from AAA. Happ started against the Giants in San Francisco last night and threw 6 solid innings, allowing 2 run, just 1 earned on only 4 hits, but he still walked 4. The Giants won the game, 2-1, and Happ slipped to 4-15 on the season.
In Philadelphia, Ryan Howard belted his 27th home run, a 3-run shot (99 RBI), but the Phillies dropped a 6-5 decision to the Marlins. Carlos Ruiz' (.271) hitting streak was stopped, and Mike Stutes (3.67) struck out 3 of the 4 hitters he faced, throwing a scoreless inning of relief.........In Cleveland, Lou Marson had 2 walks, and threw out a runner at third base in the Indians' 2-1 win over Kansas City..........In New York, Chris Capuano struck out Michael Bourn 4 times, in his complete game, 2-hit shut out of the Braves............
