Domonic Brown continued his comeback Thursday night in Columbus, where the IronPigs pounded the hottest team in the IL, 10-3. Brown was 3 for 4, driving in a run, stealing abase, and scoring twice for the Pigs. Domonic has 12 hits in a total of 8 games with Clearwater and now Lehigh Valley for a combined .375 mark. Jason Donald, going through the same scenario as Brown, was 0 for 3 with a walk for Columbus, and is hitting .350 as he awaits the call to rejoin Cleveland.
Speaking of Cleveland, the Indians beat Oakland 4-3 in 12 innings. Lou Marson was 3 for 5, including a double, and a 2-out extra inning RBI in the winning rally. In Tampa, Kyle Drabek was outpitched by David Price in the Ray's 3-1 win over Toronto. Drabek (2-2, 4.50) went 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks, striking out 3 and working constantly in trouble. Antonio Bastardo gave up a run in his inning of the Phillies 7-3 win over Washington. It was just the 2nd run allowed by Antonio in 12 innings so far.
Over in Altoona, Mike Dubee pitched a scoreless inning despite giving up 3 hits and recorded his 4th hold of the season, as the Curve defeated Akron, 4-3................. Down in Carolina, Quintin Berry played consecutive days for the first time for the Mudcats and followed up a 2-hit and a walk, with 3 stolen bases performance with a 3-walk and another steal effort for the Mudcats on Thursday. I anxiously await tonight's line up card, looking for "Q"s name............. Out in Lancaster, California, Jonathan Villar had 2 hits, a walk, stole a base (#15) and scored 3 runs, but Lancaster dropped a 17-11 decision to the Quakes.
