The Lakewood BlueClaws made it 3 of 4 over Charleston Sunday with a 4-2 win over the River Dogs. Jesse Biddle went 5 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks, striking out 6 for his first win of the year. Colby Shreve was perfect for 3 frames, notching a "hold" and Juan Sosa threw the 9th to pick up his 3rd save.
Zack Collier (2 doubles, 2 runs) and Migueal Alvarez (2 RBI) had 2 hits each and Jim Murphy slammed his 8th home run of the year. Big Jim is now tied for the all-time Lakewood home run lead with original Claw Juan Richardson, who hit 22 in 2001. "Murph" hit 14 in 2009 for the Claws and his next dinger puts him in the books.
In Harrisburg, Reading followed up Saturday's 13 runs on 19 hits, with 15 runs on 16 hits Sunday in a 15-6 shelling of the Senators. Matt Rizzotti (4 RBI) and Derrick Mitchell (3 RBI) each hit their 5th home run, and Fidel Hernandez (2 runs) and Tim Kennelly (double, triple, 3 RBI) had 3 hits each.
Chris Kissock's struggles continue, this time he made it through just 4 innings and gave up 4 runs on 4 hits before departing. Jordan Ellis came on, and got the win, even though he gave up 2 runs in 3 frames of work. Justin De Fratus worked the final 2 innings, giving up 2 hits and striking out 3.
