In Toledo, the IronPigs defeated the Mud Hens, 3-1. Domonic Brown (.367) had a double in 4 at bats and is probably waiting to be recalled. Unfortunately, the Phillies seem to be in no hurry to do that. Mike Zagurski recorded his 4th save, despite allowing a run in the 9th inning.
In Columbus, Jason Donald had a walk and scored a run in the Clipper's 13-7 loss to Charlotte. Jason also appears ready to return to the majors, but the Indians, like the Phillies with Brown, do not want to rock their boat at this time.......In Memphis, Donald's Lakewood teammate, Adrian Cardenas, had a double and a walk, and scored a run for Sacramento in the RedBird's 10-8 win over the River Cats........In Kodak, Darren Byrd tossed 3 effective inning in relief, allowing just 1 run on 2 hits and 2 walks, striking out 2 in Huntsville's 7-5 win over the Smokies. Byrd recorded his 4th win and lowered his ERA to a very good 1.83. In Birmingham, Quintin Berry is still hot, getting 2 more hits and a walk, and scoring 2 runs for the Mudcats in their 7-6 loss to the Barons. Both Byrd and Berry were also a on the same Lakewood team (2007) with Donald and Cardenas.
In Manchester, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats managed just 6 hits in their 3-0 loss to Portland, but Anthony Gose had 2 of them. Gose was caught stealing for just the 3rd time this year, and is now 14 for 17.......In San Jose, Jonathan Villar had a single and a double, scored a run and drove in 2 more, but Lancaster lost to the Giants, 9-6.
