Galvis leads Threshers

Freddy Galvis had 4 hits(and 2 stolen bases), including an RBI single to tie the game in the 4-run 9th inning rally that gave Clearwater a 6-4 win over Tampa. Kyle Drabek pitched well for 5 innings, but it got away from him in the 6th, when the Yankees scored 3 to take a 4-2 lead. It stayed that way until the 9th when Clearwater used 5 hits and a walk to post the come from behind win. Arlon Quiroz (.256, 3 RBI) and Derrick Mitchell (2 runs scored)had 2 hits each for Clearwater. Zack Sterner picked up the win, his 1st of the year, and Jared Simon said, "game over" for the 4th time. The Threshers are now 10-6, 1 game behind the Manatees in the FSL North, and play Dunedin tonight, Carlos Monasterios (1-1) to pitch.

In Kinston, NC, Mike Dubee struck out all 3 hitters he faced in a scoreless inning for the Lynchburg Hillcats, in Lynchburg's 6-3 loss to Kinston.

Of course, I was in Reading yesterday, where the Bowie BaySox enacted a little revenge, salvaging the final game of a 4 game set with the R-Phils, 8-0. More important, I have say it was great to have some of the guys spend a few minutes, so my thanks to: Quintin Berry, Mike Spidale, Tuffy Gosewisch, Michael Taylor, Sergio Escalona, Alex Concepcion, Mike Stutes, Vance Worley, Gus Milner, Mike Zagurski, Pat Overholt and Matt German, who all took a few moments to say hi, which I really appreciate. Reading will have an off day Monday and start a series with Altoona Tuesday. Joe Savery will start and Carlos Ruiz will be in town to make a rehab start.

Carlos Carrasco suffered through his first off day, not making it through 3 innings before giving up 6 runs on 8 hits, 2 walks as the IronPigs lost to Pawtucket 7-4. Carlos Ruiz caught the whole game and had a single and a walk. Drew Carpenter will face the Sox tonight.

In Sacramento, Randy Ruiz (.319) was 1 for 4 with a walk, and RBI #21, but Las Vegas lost to Sacramento, 2-1 in 13 innings. In Fresno, Chris Roberson (.262) was 1 for 4, an RBI double for Reno in the Aces' 3-2 win over the Grizzlies.

Michael Bourn (.293) had a single and a walk, and scored a run in Houston's 3-2 win over Milwaukee, and Ryan Howard (.290) had 2 hits and a walk, scored a run and drove 1 in, in the Phillies 13-2 mashing of the Marlins.
