Wednesday's action

In Stockton, California, Scott Mitchinson got the start for the Stockton Ports against Visalia and was hit hard. Scott only made it through 3.1 innings, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits and NO walks, and was the losing pitcher in the Port's 11-8 loss to the Rawhide. Matt Spencer, traded with Josh Outman and Adrian Cardenas last year, belted his 5th home run of the year for Stockton.

Speaking of Cardenas, Adrian had 2 singles, a triple, scored 3 times and drove in 5 in the Rock Hound's 16-9 comeback win. Adrian is hitting .355, with 18 RBI for Midland.

In Clearwater, Mike Durant has hit his first home run of the year, a 3-run blast to provide the margin of victory in the Threshers' 4-3 win over Dunedin. Dominic Brown also homered for Clearwater, his 2nd, as Julian Sampson recorded his first win of the season. Mike Schwimer threw 2 frames, giving up 1 run, before turning it over to Jared Simon, for save #5.

In Reading, Vance Worley threw 7 shut out innings for Reading, leading to a 2-0 victory over Altoona. Vance gave up just 3 hits and 1 walk, striking out 7 to improve to 2-0, 2.22 for the year. Sergio Escalona picked up his 6th save with a 1-2-3 9th. Michael Taylor was 3 for 4, with a double, a stolen base, and scored a run, and Quintin Berry had a hit and stole base #7.

In Chicago, Gavin Floyd battled his way through 6 tough innings, allowing just 3 runs on 10 hits and 2 walks, and received no decision in the White Sox' 6-3 win over Seattle.
