Carlos Carrasco made his season debut Friday in Allentown, tossing 6 shutout innings against Scranton. Carlos allowed just 4 hits, NO walks, striking out 4, leaving the game with a 1-0 lead. Of course, the Lehigh Valley bullpen managed to lose the game 2-1 in 10 innings. Jason Donald was 2 for 5 for the IronPigs, who fall to 0-2 on the year.
Matt Maloney's first start of the year was rained out, he will try again to take on Columbus tonight at 6:00 in the first game of the make-up doubleheader.
In the PCL, Nashville topped New Orleans 10-6. R.J. Swindel pitched a 1-2-3 final frame for Nashville, recording a strike out. Colorado Springs edged Las Vegas, 5-4, Randy Ruiz had an RBI single in 4 at bats for the 51's. That makes 3 RBI in 2 games for "Homie". Oklahoma City defeated Memphis, 4-2. Greg Golson had a double in 3 at bats for the RedHawks and is off to a 3 for 7 (.429) start. The Salt Lake Bees beat Reno, 6-2. Chris Roberson was 0 for 5 for the Aces, and Bobby Korecky gave up a run on 2 hits in his 1 inning of work. Portland defeated Fresno 6-5 in 10 innings, Kevin Howard had a single and a double and scored a run for the Beavers.
