In Clearwater on Saturday, the Yankees beat the Phillies, 8-5. Cole Hamels was the starter for the Phils, throwing 2 good innings and allowing 1 run on 3 hits, NO walks and 1 K, and Mike Stutes threw the 9th, giving up 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk. Freddy Galvis (0 for 2), Domonic Brown (0 for 2) and Sebatian Valle (0 for 1, with a walk) all saw action.

Over in Orlando, the Tigers pitching held the Braves to just 1 hit in a 2-0 Detroit win. Michael Bourn ( 0 for 3) started for Atlanta, and Quintin Berry (1 for 2) played for the Tigers again. In Dunedin, Kyle Drabek was the winning pitcher for Toronto in a 7-1 win over Pittsburgh. Drabek threw a scoreless frame, walking 1 and striking out 1, and Anthony Gose struck out in his only at bat. Kyle is trying to win a spot in the rotation for 2012, while Gose is probably heading for AAA- Las Vegas. In Lee County, Matt Maloney made his Minnesota debut in a 7-3 Twins' win over the Rays. Maloney struck out all 3 hitters he faced!! In Kissimmee, Jonathan Singleton got into the game for the Astros without getting an at bat as Houston took a 3-1 decision from the Nationals.

In Scottsdale, the Diamondbacks and Rockies played a 1-1, 10-inning tie. Mike Zagurski threw a perfect inning for Arizona, striking out 2 of the 3 hitters he faced, and Josh Outman made his debut for Colorado, allowing a run on 2 hits and a walk over 2 frames. In Peoria, Michael Taylor was 1 for 4, with a walk for Oakland in the Athletics' 9-2 win over the Mainers.
