around camps Wednesday

In Clearwater Wednesday, the Astros routed the Phillies, 10-3. Jonathan Singleton had a single and scored a run during the 4-run 6th for Houston. Jonathan is 1 for 5 for the Astros this spring. Freddy Galvis walked and scored in the 8th inning for the Phillies, and Sebastian Valle was 0 for 2 on the day.

Vance Worley made the start for Philadelphia, throwing 2 frames and giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and 1 walk. B.J. Rosenberg got 4 outs, allowing 1 hit and striking out 2, and Mike Stutes tossed a 1-2-3 9th, with 1 K.

In Lakeland, the Tigers beat the Braves, 5-1. Michael Bourn had a single and a walk for Atlanta..........The Red Sox and Blue Jays played a 3-3 tie in Dunedin, Anthony Gose was 0 for 1 for Toronto. The rest of the Jays went to Bradenton, and scored an 8-6 win over the Pirates. Travis d'Arnaud had a double and scored a run for the Jays. Kyle Drabek started that one for Toronto, throwing 2 innings and giving up 3 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk, striking out 2.

In Phoenix, the Dodgers and Athletics played a 3-3 draw, Michael Taylor walked and scored a run for Oakland, and Will Savage threw a scoreless 9th inning for Los Angeles, despite allowing 2 hits......In Surprise, the Kansas City Royals activated Edgar Garcia, but did not use him in their 6-4 loss to the Cubs. Adrian Cardenas was 0 for 2 for Chicago, and Greg Golson similarly 0 for 2 for the Royals.
