Dubee dubious

In Clearwater on Thursday, the Pirates handed the ball and the game to Mike Dubee in the 10th inning of a 4-4 deadlock, and Lou Montanez ended it 6 pitches later with a walk off home run. Freddy Galvis got another hit, and Tuffy Gosewisch had 2 more at bats for the Phillies.

Cole Hamels started and went 3.2 innings this time, 4 hits, 2 Ks, NO walks. Antonio Bastardo threw a 1-2-3 7th inning, at the time preserving a 4-3 lead.

In Port Charlotte, The Tigers blasted the Rays,8-1. Quintin Berry had a walk in 2 plate appearances for Detroit..........In Viera, the Nationals shut out the Astros, 8-0. Jonathan Villar (0 for 1) got into that one for Houston............The Jays beat the Yankees in Dunedin, 6-1. Anthony Gose had a hit in his only at bat for Toronto.

The Milwaukee Brewers activated Darrin Byrd on Thursday, but did not use him in the game, an 8-6 victory for the Reds. Mike Costanzo, (who skipped Lakewood in his procession up the Phillies chain) homered for Cincinnati.......In Glendale, the Dodgers subdued the Athletics, 7-2. Michael Taylor drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in his only at bat for Oakland..............In Goodyear, the Angels got by the Indians, 6-5. Jason Doanld had a hit in 2 at bats, and Lou Marson also got 2 at bats, scoring a run for the Indians..........In Scottsdale, Greg Golson's hitless spring (0 for 6) continued for KC, but the Royals beat the Rockies and Josh Outman, 5-0. Josh allowed 4 runs on 5 hits in his first inning, and then was good for 2 more frames (only 1 hit).
