Phils beat Korecky; Maloney wins

The Phillies scored a run in the bottom of the 10th inning off HomeSider Bobby Korecky to take a 4-3 victory off the Blue Jays in Clearwater. Freddy Galvis hit a home run for Philadelphia, Carlos Ruiz had a walk in 3 plate appearance, and Tuffy Gosewisch came into the game as a pinch runner, than went 0 for 1. Vance Worley was strong again, this time 4 shut out frames, allowing 4 hits, NO walks and striking out 3, and Mike Stutes allowed a ninth inning home run which temporarily gave Toronto a brief lead. The rest of the Jays went to Lake Buena Vista, dropping a 5-3 decision to the Braves. Anthony Gose had a triple and scored a run and Travis d'Arnaud was 0 for 3. Michael Bourn was 2 for 4 and scored a run for Atlanta.

In Jupiter, Matt Maloney threw 2 shut out innings and picked up a win for Twins when they rallied for 3 in the 9th for a 5-2 win over the Marlins. Maloney got 6 outs, 2 Ks, and allowed a hit. He threw just 10 pitches, all for strikes..........In Lakeland, the Tigers pounded the Cardinals, 10-3. RJ Swindel got rocked for 3 runs on 4 hits in just .2 innings for St Louis, and Quintin Berry was 0 for 1 for Detroit.

In Phoenix, Michael Taylor struck out in his only at bat for Oakland, as the A's beat the Cubs, 4-3. The rest of the Cubs went to Las Vegas and lost 12-7 to the Rangers; Adrian Cardenas had a single, a double and a home run, scoring twice for Chicago............In Scottsdale, the Rockies beat the Dodgers, 8-6. Will Savage threw 1 inning for Los Angeles, allowing 2 runs on 2 hit, striking out 1.
