In Scranton Tuesday, Tyson Brummett, Justin DeFratus and Mike Schwimer combined to defeat the Yankees, 5-2. Brummett started and went 5.2 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 7 hits, NO walks, and 5 Ks, before yielding to DeFratus. Justin faced 9 hitters, recorded 7 outs, including 5 Ks, and picked up the victory when the IronPigs rallied for 3 in the 8th. Schwimer (1.85) got his 6th save with a scoreless 9th. Greg Golson (.301) had 3 hits for the Yanks, including a triple and an RBI, and stole 2 bases in a losing effort.
In New Orleans, Omaha scored 5 runs in the 9th inning to steal a 6-5 win over the Zephyrs. Jesus Merchan had an RBI hit and scored a run for New Orleans...........In Nashville, the4 Sounds beat Memphis, 9-8. Zack Segovia tossed a scoreless frame for Nashville, despite giving up 2 hits and a walk...........In Fresno, the Sacramento River Cats scored 3 in the 8th and 3 more in the 9th to tie their game with the Grizzlies, only to lose in 11 innings, 7-6. Adrian Cardenas (.310) had 3 hits for the Cats, and Michael Taylor had a hit and 2 walks. Each scored a run in the great comeback............In Manchester, Anthony Gose and Travis d'Arnaud homered in the same game again (3rd time this season) as the Fisher Cats beat New Britain, 7-2. For Gose, it was his 9th, and for d'Arnaud, his 11th. Anthony also stole his 39th base!!................In Bowie, Joe Savery hit a grand slam home run, his 1st for Reading, and Matt Rizzotti belted his 16th of the yeart as the R-Phils beat the BaySox, 6-2. Joe Esposito got his first win for Reading, and Mike Cisco and Josh Zeid each tossed 2 scoreless innings of relief.
