In Manchester, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats swept a doubleheader from Reading by scoring 2 in the bottom of the 7th to steal game 2, 3-2. In the first game, a 2-run home run (#14) by Travis d'Arnaud helped the Cats to a 4-3 win. (Travis (.319) was 2 for 5 and a walk on the day) Bobby Korecky (2.34) threw a 1-2-3 top of the 7th to save it for the Cats, his 10th of the year. Anthony Gose (.253) had a double and a walk, scored a run and drove in another, and stole his 48th base of the year.
For Reading, Mike Spidale (.319) was 2 for 4, and walked twice, scoring 3 of Reading's 5 runs on the day. Freddy Galvis was 3 for 8 and scored the other 2. Each of them stole a base. Matt Rizzotti (.292) had an RBI hit in each game (64 on the year).
J.C. Ramirez (8-11, 4.34) lost the first game, working 6 innings, and allowing all 4 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks, striking out 7. Tyler Cloyd (3.36) was great in the second game, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits, NO walks and 3 Ks over 5 innings, Jacob Diekman (3.42) threw a scoreless 6th, and then Justin Friend gave up the winning runs and gave the Cats the sweep.
