Brown belts first dinger

The Phillies took it on the chin, 10-2 at the hands of the Nationals Tuesday, but red-hot Domonic Brown had 2 more hits, including his first home run of 2011. Dom is on fire- 10 for 19 over the past 6 games, which is .526. This hot streak is very timely, with Shane Victorino due off the DL by the weekend the Phillies will have to make room for him. With Ben Francisco and John Mayberry both producing, maybe the move is put Ross Gload on the DL with his hip problem.

Carlos Ruiz also had 2 hits for Philadelphia, and Mike Stutes (2.38, .2 IP 1 hit 1 K) and Mike Zagurski (1 IP 1 run, 1 hit 2 walks) both threw for the Phils.

In Chicago, the Houston Astros rallied for 6 in the 9th to defeat the Cubs, 7-3. Michael Bourn was 1 for 5, but the 1 was a single (with steal #20 and a run scored) which contributed to the winning rally. Sergio Escalona made his daily cameo, retiring Kosuke Fukudome on a bunt.
