May fans 14 Yanks!

Trevor May had another fantastic outing in Tampa Wednesday, striking out 14 hitters and allowing just 1 hit and 2 walks over 7 innings. He receives no decision and the game was suspended in the 10th inning with the score tied at 2-2. Trevor is 4-4 with a 3.23 ERA and is getting hotter with the Florida summer. On the heels of being named the winning pitcher in the FSL all star game last weekend, this performance is makes 3 excellent starts in the last 4, as the consistency we have all been looking for is beginning to show itself.

Other highlights Wednesday include:

John Mayberry, with 3 hits including a 3-run home run in the first inning of Lehigh Valley's 10-5 loss to Indianapolis.

Kevin Howard (.303) had 2 hits, scored 2 runs and drove in another for Las Vegas in the 51s' 16-8 win over Reno.

Robinson Tejeda (0.59 ERA!) retires 5 straight hitters for Omaha in their 5-4 loss to Nashville in the nightcap of the doubleheader.

Yohan Flande has not been able to take advantage of a great opportunity with the Gwinnett Braves. Flande started the season in the bullpen, and earned a spot in the rotation. Last night, Syracuse got to him for 5 runs on 11 hits in 5.2 innings of work, for a total of 9 runs in 10 innings in the last 2 starts. Before that, a couple of good starts- and before that, some not so good. he is 2-4, 4.45 for the Atlanta affiliate.
