Carrasco blanks Yanks

On the heels of his best performance in his young career, Carlos Carrasco followed up last Tuesday's effort with 7 more shut out inning in the Bronx Monday night, and the Indians salvaged the final game of their series in New York with a 1-0 win. After loading the bases with nobody out in the very first inning, Carlos settled in, and allowed the Bombers just 5 hit and 3 walks, striking out 7 to improve to 6-3, 4.09 on the year. He is up to 15.1 scoreless innings in a row, has won 5 of his last 6 starts and is the only one keeping the Indians afloat right now.

It was win #39 in majors for the HomeSide this year.

Lou Marson, who has caught all the innings in Carrasco's current streak, was 1 for 3 on the night.

In Houston, the Astros ended the Braves winning streak with an 8-3 win. Michael Bourn had a single, a walk, scored a run and stole his 27th base, and Sergio "Everyday" Escalona threw another scoreless inning (1 hit, 1 K, 1.74). Sergio has not allowed a run since May 27, making 10 appearances in that time.
