Scranton tops Lehigh Valley

In Allentown, the Scranton Yankees defeated the IronPigs, 5-2. Vance Worley started and took the loss for Lehigh Valley, getting through 5.2 innings, and allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, NO walks and 6 strike outs. Chance Chapman came on and was charged with 3 runs, only 1 earned, on 4 hits and a walk, and he struck out 5. Mike Stutes finished up, getting the final 4 outs. Greg Golson was 1 for 5 and stole a base for Scranton. After the game, Chapman was returned to Reading, and Tyson Brummett moved from Reading to Lehigh Valley. Chapman had replaced Mike Zagurski, who was promoted to the Phillies, and made the appearance Tuesday night, but is now returned to Reading.

In Durham, R.J. Swindel pitched a scoreless inning (1 hit) for the Bulls in their 9-1 win over Charlotte, and over in Oklahoma City, Sergio Escalona did the same (1 walk) for the RedHawks in that team's 6-2 loss to Round Rock.............Out in Reno, Adrian Cardenas was cooled off a bit by the Aces. "A.C." was 0 for 5 (dropping his average to .415) in the River Cat's 13-6 defeat by Reno.............In Chattanooga, Darren Byrd retired the 1 hitter he faced for Huntsville, stranding an inherited baserunner, but the Lookouts won anyway, 4-1.
