Domonic paces Phillies win
Monday night in New York, the Phillies beat the Mets, 3-1 behind solid pitching from Cliff Lee. Domonic Brown (.246) had a triple and a home run to pace the Phillies attack, and Carlos Ruiz (.331) added a hit to the cause. Philadelphia is now back to .500 at 74-74 and is now 3.6 games behind idle St. Louis for the final playoff berth with 14 games to go........In Chicago, the White Sox defeated Detroit, 5-4 in a make up game that was rained out last week, extending their lead in the AL Central to 3 games over the Tigers. Quintin Berry pinch hit in the 9th inning, and had a good at bat, before grounding out to third base.......In Miami, Michael Bourn was 0 for 5 in the Braves' 7-5 win over the Marlins. The Braves are still 5 games behind the Nationals, and in secure possession of the lead wild card spot.
