Golson, Taylor advance; Gose knocks in 5

In Charlotte Saturday night, Greg Golson hit a 2-run home run in the 2nd inning, 1 of his 2 hits in the game, as the Knights beat Indianapolis, 6-4, to win their series 3 games to 1 and advance to the International League Championship Series against Pawtucket.  Golson his .353 in the series.

In Reno,  Michael Taylor had a single and scored a run for Sacramento during their 3-run 2nd inning as the River Cats took a 4-3, 10-inning, series clinching win over the Aces to advance to the Pacific Coast League Championship to take on the winner between Albuquerque and Omaha.  Last in in Albuquerque, the Isotopes scored 9 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to take a 12-10 win and even their series at 2-2.  Will Savage has pitched 2 innings in relief for Albuquerque in the series, allowing 2 run on 3 walks and a hi


In San Bernadino, Domingo Santana had walked and scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th inning, and then singled home what proved to be the winning run in the 12th, as Lancaster grabbed game 1 of the divisional championship series, 8-7 over the Mavericks.  In all,  Santana (.538 in 4 playoff games so far) had 3 hits, 2 walks, an RBI and scored 3 times for Lancaster.

In Bakersfield, Travis Mattair had 2 hits, including a home run for the Blaze in their 5-4 win in game 1 of their series with Modesto.  Maybe Mattair and Santana will square off for the title if they can both win these series!

The game between Reading and Trenton was rained out, they will try to get it in this afternoon at 4:00, with Adam Morgan throwing for the R-Phils.

In Boston, Anthony Gose had 2 hits, including his first major league home run, and drove in 5 runs for the Blue Jays in their 9-2 win over the Red Sox. Gose also stole his 13th base for the Jays..........In New York, Michael Bourn had a double in 6 at bats for the Braves, as Atlanta routed the Mets, 11-3.
