Saturday stuff

Saturday in Toronto, the Red Sox got past the Blue Jays, 3-2.  Anthony Gose (.227) had 2 hits and stole his 15th base for Toronto..........In Cleveland, Quintin Berry made just his 4th start in over a month for the Tigers, and was 2 for 3 for Detroit in their 5-3 win over the Indians.  Lou Marson was 0 for 2 for the Tribe...........In Atlanta, Michael Bourn took another 0 for 4, and his average is down to .276, but the Braves edged the Nationals, 5-4.  Mike is just 7 for his last 42...........In San Diego, the Padres beat Colorado, 4-3.  Josh Outman retired the only hitter he faced for the Rockies.

In Houston, the Phillies were shut out, 5-0 by the Astros.  The combination of Ryan Howard, Domonic Brown and Carlos Ruiz totaled 0 for 8 with 1 walk.  Kyle Kendrick (9-11, 3.95) suffered the loss, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, NO walks, in his 5 innings of work.  Jake Diekman threw a 1-2-3 8th inning for Philadelphia.  The Phillies now trail both the Cardinals and Dodgers by 3 games for the final playoff spot, with just 16 games remaining to be played.

Congratulations to Domingo Santana and the Lancaster JetHawks, who defeated Modesto 3-2 last night to win the California League Championship!  Domingo had a hit and a walk, and his 6th RBI of the playoffs for Lancaster.
