playoffs heating up as Reading has backs to the wall

Friday night in Reno, Michael Taylor hit 2 home runs, and scored 3 runs for Sacramento, but the River Cats dropped an 11-7 game to the Aces, as Reno stayed alive in their opening round series, now trailing 2 games to 1.  The River Cats will go for the knockout in game 4 tonight.

In Charlotte, the Indianapolis Indians stayed alive with an 8-0 win over the knights, holding Charlotte to just 2 hits.  Greg Golson had 1 of those hits for the Knights, who lead the best of 5 series, 2-1.

In Corpus Chrsiti, Jonathan Singleton was 0 for 4 for the Hooks, and hit just .154 in the series, as the Frisco RoughRiders completed the sweep over the Hooks with a 5-0 win.  I would look for Singleton to maybe get a taste of major league action in the coming weeks.

In Trenton, the Thunder took a 2-1 lead in their series with Reading, taking a 5-1 win by holding the R-Phils to just 5 hits.  Cody Asche had 3 of those hit for Reading, who faces elimination tonight.

In Lancaster, Domingo Santana had 2 walks and scored a run for the JetHawks in a 3-2 win over the Storm in the deciding game of their series.  Lancaster will move into the next round to face the High Desert Mavericks.

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed Jay Happ on the DL with a fractured right foot, and the Phillies have activated Carlos Ruiz.
