"Bone" in the zone

Jonathan Pettibone's great 2011 continued Thursday night in Fort Myers with 7 shut out innings against the Miracle. "Bone" allowed just 2 hits and 1 walk, striking out 6 to improve to 5-3 with a splendid 1.75 ERA on the year. Derrick Loop (0.74) pitched 2 shut out innings of relief to pick up his 3rd save as the Threshers shut out the Miracle, 5-0.

D'Arby Myers came into the game in the 8th inning as a pinch runner, and scored the run that gave Clearwater a 2-0 advantage. Then he stayed in the game and hit a 2-run home run in the 9th. Once again, D'Arby is struggling to get playing time, but staying ready and producing when called upon. His preparation and determination are to be applauded. Troy Hanzawa also homered in the 9th, 1 of his 2 hits on the day, and Jiwan James, Leandro Castro and Sebastian Valle all had 2 hits for the Threshers.
