Phils bop Reds

In Philadelphia, Ryan Howard's drought is long gone, the big first baseman has now hit in 8 straight games, getting an RBI-double and 2 walks in the Phillies'10-4 win over the Reds Thursday. The RBI was #38 for Ryan. Domonic Brown had a single, a double and a walk, and the hits are starting to drop for Dom, who has been hitting the ball hard since his return with little to show for before yesterday. Hopefully, the floodgates have opened.............In Chicago, the Cubs pounded the Mets, 9-3, but Taylor Buchholz (2.19) did pitch and he retired both hitters he faced.

The Royals have designated Robinson Tejeda for assignment.

Jeremy Slayden has signed with the independent New Jersey Jackals, and was 1 for 4 and scored a run Thursday night in the Jackals opening game in Pittsfield, an 8-4 win for New Jersey.
